New Mexico Election Victory

Chair, DPNM

Tuesday night was a victory for Democrats across the country.

I am proud to report that New Mexico Democrats delivered — everywhere. Up and down the ballot, in urban centers and small towns alike, voters chose leaders who reflect their values.

Even in some of the reddest parts of the state, Democrats broke through.

In Lea County — which gave Trump more than 80% of the vote — Democrats flipped school board and hospital board seats.

In Union County, despite Trump carrying nearly 75%, a Democrat won a three-way race for Clayton City Council.

In Otero County, home of Cowboys for Trump, Democrats won school board, soil and water conservation, and even a mayoral election.

And in Deming, our very own CD-02 Vice Chair Laura Parra was elected to the City Council.

In Lordsburg, a town that went for Trump over Harris by 23.36%, Democrats had a clean sweep on the City Council.

All told, Democrats won over 250 local races in New Mexico — not just in blue cities like Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but in Vaughn, Loving, Texico, Maxwell, Lake Arthur and communities up and down our beautiful state.

The message is clear: When Democrats organize and stand up for working people, we win — everywhere.
